Estepona Costa del Sol

Estepona is a small fishing village which has gradually become one of the most popular resorts on the Costa del Sol.

Full of character and interesting history, it has succeeded in maintaining its “pueblo” charm and character. There are numerous street cafes and tapas bars, which still serve traditional Spanish delicacies, and the cobbled, narrow streets seem more suited to horses than cars. You will also find unusual shops and bodegas in Estepona, where you’d least expect them, all very inviting, very friendly and very cheap. Whether you want a beach, golf, shopping, or touring holiday you have the choice in Estepona.

Beaches
The sandy beaches either side of the Port give you a choice of a small tranquil cove " Playa Cristo" or the larger blue flag beach "Playa Rada" with a 2 km promenade and children's play area. During the summer months there are water sports on Playa Rada

Eating, bars and entertainment
The Port and town boasts a wide range bars and cuisine from Spanish, Italian, English, Chinese, and Indian. The local fishermen supply the port with their catch each day and the menu of the day in the Chinese restaurants will not disappoint you. Local port bars like Bar Esther next to our office offers snacks into the night and the Blue Reef is the place to go for the perfect English Sunday lunch.

Touring
Visit Gibraltar, which is only 40 minutes away, where you can ride the cable car to the top to see the Barbary apes and stock up all your duty frees. Africa is a 20-minute ferry ride away from Algeciras situated just past Gibraltar. Selwo safari park is 15 minutes drive for a great day out. For water lovers try the water park in Mijas. For those who like culture and sight seeing Ronda, Seville and Granada can be seen both by coach tour or you can hire a car and drive yourself, all of which can be arranged through our office.

Fishing
Estepona Port is a typical working Andalucian fishing port; you can watch the fresh supplies being brought in each morning for the local restaurants and markets. There are boat trips where you can have a go at catching Tuna or board the dolphin tour to see these wonderful creatures as nature intended.

Market
The markets in Estepona are not to be missed. The Wednesday market is held in the town where you will find an array of goods, from clothes and rugs to fresh fruit and vegetables. The Sunday market is held in the port where you can pickup Spanish souvenirs for friends and family, as well as clothes, rugs, and leather goods, which have found there way from Morocco at very keen prices.
